Hi everyone!
I’m Natasha Barber, the founder of SKEANIE. When I look at the small booties in this picture, sweet stars, others with playful elephants, I’m reminded of where my journey first began. This photo is a direct reflection of the love and purpose behind this brand.
My story, like many great ones, started with a mother’s search. As a parent, I wanted the absolute best for my children’s developing feet. Their first wobbly steps were precious, and I found myself looking for footwear that supported, rather than constrained, that natural curiosity and movement.
I realised that so much of the children's footwear available was overly rigid, structured, and heavy. I was seeking freedom, natural movement, and soft, flexible soles that mimicked being barefoot, but with essential protection. My own search and the frustration of not finding what I needed led me to a question: Why can't we have the best of both worlds?
And thus in 2005, SKEANIE was born, from a place of love and a personal mission for my children, and now for all our little ones.
