Did you know that in the first three years of life, your little one's foot develops an incredible amount? With more cartilage than bone, your baby's foot is subjected to more daily stress than an adult's - all while sweating twice as much! By the time they turn two, their feet will have a solid structure, but the bones won't fully harden until they reach the age of thirteen.

The best way to keep your SKEANIE first/pre walker shoes looking bright and new is to simply wipe over with a clean damp cloth or leather wipe.

• Ensure your child’s foot is relaxed before measuring.
• Measure towards the end of the day to ensure foot is at it’s largest.
• Place your child’s foot on a piece of paper
• Draw a line at the heel and at the big toe - measure the foot length in mm.
• DO NOT add to your child’s foot length as wriggle room has been factored in.
• Whilst we have tried our best to make our sizing guide as accurate as possible, the sizing of our shoes may vary slightly between designs.

SKEANIE leather shoes and boots are made from soft, comfortable leather and feature thin, flexible rubber and/or suede soles as this is recommend for growing feet. As our shoes are made from soft leather, they should be worn for special occasions or dress shoes. Our shoes are made from soft leather, which will scuff when scrapped along a rough surface.

They do enjoy walking, running and playing; however they do not like getting wet, being used as brakes on your bike or scooter, kicking a footy, climbing trees or walking through mud and dirt.

We recommend that you spray your SKEANIE footwear with a Shucare Water and Stain Repellent prior to wear. The best way to keep your SKEANIE footwear looking bright and new is to simply wipe over with a clean damp cloth or leather wipe. Applying Shucare Leather Conditioner and Renovating Polish will assist with maintaining their softness and colour. SKEANIE footwear should never be placed in the washing machine or dryer.

Metallic leathers are created using a hot press technique in which foil is bonded to the leather. Metallics are not as durable as regular leathers, and if the foil is scratched it will expose the leather underneath. There is no process we know of to re-foil shoes, so please tread with care!

When it comes to keeping our shoes looking their best, a little preventative care goes a long way. And one of the best ways to do that is by using a gentle stain repellent.

SKEANIE's gentle stain repellent is made specifically for leather baby shoes, and it's formulated to repel water, dirt, and stains. It's easy to use and will help keep footwear looking clean and new. Plus, it's safe for all types of shoes, including leather and suede. So no matter what type you have, you can protect them with this gentle repellent.

Shoe Polish Kits Keep Your Leather Shoes Looking New

First, it’s important to choose the right shoe care products. We recommend using a cleaner and conditioner like our Natural Leather Conditioner & Patent Cleaner. This product is specifically designed for baby shoes and is gentle enough for even the most delicate leather.

To use, simply apply a small amount of cleaner to a clean, dry cloth and rub it into the leather in a circular motion. Once the shoes are clean, apply a little conditioner to another clean, dry cloth and rub it into the leather. This will help to protect the leather and keep it looking its best. 

Once you’ve applied the cleaner and conditioner, you can use a shoe brush to buff the shoes and give them a little extra shine. 

Caring for Metallic Leathers

Metallic leathers are created using a hot press technique in which foil is bonded to the leather. There is no process to re-foil shoes, so please tread with care! To clean, simply wipe with a damp cloth. To maintain, regularly buff with a soft, dry cloth. If needed, apply some Renovating Shoe Polish to a soft cloth and wipe evenly over the surface.
