SKEANIE baby and toddler shoes are handcrafted from soft, premium leather and feature lightweight, flexible soles—carefully designed to support healthy foot development. To maintain their comfort, colour, and condition, we recommend treating them as dress shoes and caring for them with the right techniques.

Our leather footwear enjoys walking, running, and playtime—but should be kept away from excessive moisture, rough terrain, and high-impact activities like biking, scooting, or climbing. Always avoid submerging in water or machine washing.

Leather Scuffing: What to Expect and How to Manage It

Due to the soft nature of our leathers, scuffing can occur—especially when shoes are worn on abrasive surfaces or used for active play. This is a normal part of natural leather wear and not a fault. To minimise scuff marks and extend the life of your shoes:

Apply a renovating polish or leather conditioner regularly to nourish and restore the leather surface

Use a colour-matched leather polish to help reduce the visibility of minor scuffs

Avoid dragging toes or scraping against concrete, gravel, or other rough materials

Rotate shoes and reserve SKEANIEs for outings or indoor use to help preserve their condition

For best results, we recommend:

Spraying shoes with a water repellent before wear

Wiping regularly with a clean, damp cloth or leather wipe

Conditioning with renovating polish to preserve softness and colour

Note on Metallic Leathers:

Metallic finishes are created by bonding foil to leather using heat. These finishes are more delicate than standard leathers and may show wear or scratches over time. Unfortunately, refoiling is not possible—so tread carefully with your metallics.
